What is EduShare.uk?

EduShare.uk is a members-only online community where UK school staff share and discover practical AI resources: classroom-tested prompts, teacher-built classroom apps, Gemini Skills and Gems, and guided training, alongside live chat, a forum and live events. It is built and run by Getech Limited, a Google for Education and Google Cloud partner.

Who is EduShare.uk for?

EduShare.uk is for everyone who works in a UK school or trust: teachers, teaching assistants, SENCOs, support staff and senior leaders. It is designed for adults working in education and is not for pupils.

How does EduShare.uk save teachers time?

Staff start from what already works instead of a blank page. The Prompt Library holds classroom-tested prompts for planning, marking and feedback, ranked by colleagues; Gemini Skills and Gems are ready to copy into Gemini; and the App Library has interactive lessons, games and classroom tools ready to launch. Hours of trial and error become minutes.

How is EduShare.uk different from using ChatGPT or Gemini on my own?

An AI tool on its own gives you an empty box to type into. EduShare.uk gives you the community around it: prompts, skills, Gems and apps that other UK school staff have already tested and rated, organised by Key Stage and subject, and people to ask when you get stuck. You learn from your peers rather than on your own.

Do staff need to be confident with AI to use EduShare.uk?

No. The Training Portal takes staff through guided pathways from first steps to confident everyday use, with progress tracked to completion. Most resources work in one click, and the chat rooms and forum mean help is always close by.

What is vibe coding, and can teachers really build their own apps?

Vibe coding means building a working app by describing what you want to an AI such as Gemini, with no programming knowledge needed. Teachers on EduShare.uk use it to create interactive lessons, quizzes, games and classroom tools, then share them in the App Library, where every app is reviewed before it goes live and runs safely in a sandbox. Getech also offers schools a free vibe-coding audit.

What are Gemini Skills?

Skills are reusable instructions you add to Gemini once, then call up in any chat by typing a slash and the skill's name, such as /mark-essay-against-rubric. Gemini can also use a skill by itself when it fits what you ask. The Skill Library on EduShare.uk holds skills written and tested by UK school staff, each ready to copy into Gemini's skill form or download as a SKILL.md file. Google is replacing Gems with skills, starting with personal accounts and reaching school accounts in 2027.

How does EduShare.uk help a school or trust roll out AI?

It gives a whole school or trust one shared place for AI practice. Leaders can point staff to agreed prompts, Gems and pinned guidance so everyone works consistently, trained staff become Champions with their own lounge, and training progress is tracked so you can show measurable upskilling to leadership and governors.

How does EduShare.uk keep staff engaged with AI?

Staff earn XP and badges as they contribute, climb daily, weekly and all-time leaderboards, and can enter seasonal App Challenges where the winning app earns an exclusive badge. A little friendly competition turns curiosity into an everyday habit.

Is EduShare.uk a Google product?

No. EduShare.uk is a Getech product, built and run by Getech Limited. Getech is a Google for Education and Google Cloud partner and the community focuses on Google tools such as Gemini, but EduShare.uk is not made or endorsed by Google.

How does EduShare.uk protect pupil data?

Members are asked never to share anything that identifies a pupil, every prompt is automatically screened for pupil details before it is published, and all shared content is reviewed by the team before it goes live. The platform and its database are hosted on Google Cloud in London, so data stays in the UK, and it is never sold or shared with advertisers.

How does my school join EduShare.uk, and what does it cost?

Membership is arranged with each school or trust. Book a discovery call through the contact form on edushare.uk, email info@edushare.uk or call 01473 240470, and the Getech team will talk you through membership and set up access for your staff, who then sign in with their Google account.
